Small Mammals
Small mammals can be difficult to identify unless their dead bodies are found. Brown rats are common in the area
and adults are unmistakeable. Mice have have larger ears and longer tails than voles but they are both difficult to identify to species level.
Unlike rats, mice and voles which are rodents, shrews are insectivores and feed on worms and insects.
