Cranes winter in Spain and North Africa.
In February they migrate to Scandinavia and around the Baltic. They use a narrow corridor and fly when skies are clear.

These were filmed near Angouleme in France. They appeared in the sky above us, to the west and to the east all heading north.
Their loud trumpeting can be heard even as they fly over at night.
